just saw mighty aphrodite on cable. a great woody allen film, right up there with bullets over broadway, at least for me. tried finding a dvd of this when i was in japan some years back. wasn't successful.

have heard quite a number of versions of the ending song (or should i say 'ending greek chorus') that i don't really know who sang the original. no matter, whatever version you listen to, it has that infectious melody that you've no choice but to sing along.

prior to my first business trip to japan way back in 2000, one of the advice i kept hearing over and over was to buy the train map of the metro tokyo area. have it, and you won't get lost.


while i learned that that wasn't necessarily true (owing to my seemingly natural predisposition to get lost), i'd have to agree that it's a very helpful tool for getting around.

New Book in the Making

A friend was asking for a suggestion of books that is about math but not textbooks in an email. So there for a while I am thinking of a book, but out of somewhere I made a joke just to waste some time.

In reply to the email:

Have you ever heard of the book, "How to Integrate a Differential Life?" by Elmer. I have a copy of that book with free autograph included.

And my friend replied:

LOKO! LOKO!

Another answered:

Sounds interesting. How much is that book?

Some sent instant message:

Funny!

Some friends greeted:

Maybe I should write that book. Anyway I was a frustrated writer.
